The World Bank Group is developing its first strategy for Fragility, Conflict and Violence (FCV). The overarching objective of the strategy is to address the drivers of FCV in affected countries and their impact on vulnerable populations, with the ultimate goal of contributing to peace and prosperity. The final strategy will seek to guide and systematize the World Bank Group’s work in FCV contexts over the next five years.

A first phase of global consultations were held earlier this year on the strategy concept note and engaged more than 1,700 stakeholders in 88 countries and territories. The feedback and inputs received were invaluable to the development of the strategy.

Today, we are launching the second phase of consultations on the draft WBG strategy for FCV before its finalization in early 2020. The draft is available online for review and comment until January 16, 2020.
