Four years ago, the Government of Djibouti launched Vision 2035, a target to improve
living standards for the country’s people over the next two decades. A country in the Horn of Africa, Djibouti has a rocky, arid landscape that has driven the vast majority of people to cities. More than 35 percent of the country lives in poverty, and about 21 percent in extreme poverty, including nomadic Djiboutians and others who live in extreme rural poverty.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) launched the Play Challenge, an open call
to identify educational video games, platforms or digital products that use gamification to develop, measure or certify 21st century skills.

The 15 finalists will be considered by the IDB as a solution within the 21st century skills regional project, with possibilities to be implemented in the region. The IDB Group will evaluate the capacity of the proposing entities to implement their innovative models. In addition, regardless of their financing, they will become part of the IDB`s network of global innovators working in the region to exchange knowledge, experiences, best practices, and plenty of opportunities to participate in regional networking events. Mali Shi is a new entrant in the global shea sector in Mali. Its founders opened the Bamako-headquartered company after gaining many years of experience in the industrial manufacturing sector, where they are leading experts in the manufacture and distribution of batteries. IFC Mali Shi Advisory Project is designed to enhance Mali Shis operational efficiencies through the introduction of digital tools (Ag Tech), thereby improving smallholder farmers (SHFs) productivity and income. By the end of the project, we expect 10,000 SHFs to be engaged with AgTech solutions. Malishi, with IFC support, is seeking for a Consulting firm to help introduce IT based system to help Malishi to procure shea nuts and strengthen its relationships with local farmers, assist farmers in managing their farm, provide traceability, improve efficiency in onsite data collection including crop forecasting, and strengthen sustainability of the project.

eC2: DRC Resilience Program Impact Evaluation Baseline

DIME is hiring a survey firm with experience in collecting impact evaluation survey data in Eastern DRC. The selected firm will be responsible for implementing an Impact Evaluation baseline survey in the North and South Kivu provinces of the country. The survey firm will be traveling to an estimated 100 villages and will be collecting data across approximately 1500 households, including data on their demographics, economic and social characteristics, food security, and other resilience related outcomes. The survey is expected to start in September 2020 provided COVID-19 guidelines are respected.
