The objective of the Executive Education training will be for relevant African stakeholders to: enhance their understanding of disaster risk financing strategies and instruments for protection from natural disasters, embedded in the broader DRM and fiscal risk management frameworks, and build the skill sets to design and implement such strategies.

The training will contribute to the intermediate results of:

1)Increasing understanding of risk exposure to natural disasters and the importance of developing proactive risk financing approaches;
2)Improving knowledge of disaster risk financing and insurance solutions that can help to improve financial resilience; and
3)Creating an outline for action and next steps to get support for developing/building a DRF approach appropriate to each representatives country.
