The 2016 Spring Meetings of the IMF and World Bank
Group are upon us. This year, the meetings will take place from April 12-17, 2016. Although many events and (bilateral) meetings are behind closed doors, some are open to the public and/or will be broadcasted online.
Each spring, thousands of government officials, journalists, civil society organizations, and participants from the academia and private sectors, gather in Washington DC for the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. At the heart of the gathering are meetings of the IMF’s International Monetary and Financial Committee and the joint World Bank-IMF Development Committee, which discuss progress on the work of the IMF and the World Bank Group. Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial markets.
Over the next few days we will be putting the spotlight on a number of events that could be of interest to your organization – either because they discuss the environment you operate in, the direction of the World Bank in the coming years, or because they discuss specific projects and investments. So make sure you check in regularly to see how the Spring Meetings affect your business!
